🌟 Meet Sir Spanner Sterling

Sir Spanner Sterling is a robot of immense dedication and highly concentrated metallic energy. His boxy, two-tiered body is painted a handsome distressed silver and gold, giving him a rugged yet refined aesthetic. His head features powerful, commanding eyes made from large, intricately patterned gears and a bold, three-pronged key serves as his assertive nose.

His torso is heavily armored and adorned with a dynamic arrangement of copper and gold gears that suggest he's capable of complex calculations (or at least making a lot of rattling noise). He's flanked by tiny hinge arms and stands solidly on square silver block feet. Topped with a pair of proud watch-movement antennae, Sir Spanner is always on high alert for his next official duty.

⚙️ Origin Story

Sir Spanner was originally commissioned in 1901 by a wealthy but extremely paranoid collector to be a Silent Guard for a Single, Very Valuable Pebble. He was built to never move, never sleep, and maintain constant visual surveillance. This led to a profound boredom that was only relieved when the collector accidentally dropped the pebble, causing Sir Spanner to briefly register surprise before returning to his eternal watch.

💼 Employment History

Current Role: Chief Executor of Stares & High-Value Desk Guardian. (Sir Spanner excels at holding an unblinking gaze that subtly discourages casual theft of pens and paperclips. He also provides the essential service of making a bookshelf feel dramatically more secure.)

Previous Role (1950s): Automated Spotter at a Black and White Film Set. (Fired for being too metallic. The harsh silver finish and constant glare made him impossible to light correctly, repeatedly ruining emotional scenes. He now enjoys a less reflective life in the warm glow of domestic lighting, where his sterling commitment to duty is the only shine needed.)
